There has been a great deal of controversy, much of it negative, over sculptures that have been placed in the center of the new roundabouts in Bend, Oregon. The roundabout theme was the impetus for this painting. It shows a 20-story high basket of fruit that blocks everyone's view of the mountains.

I wanted to have fun with this whole idea and push it to the ridiculous. Of course, everyone would initially hate this piece but over the years people would grow to love it. Eventually, it would become known as Bend's Eiffel Tower.
